New service - Bulk Upload change management

A new self-service Bulk Upload feature has been added to user accounts under the “My Account” tab.

If you are a company that’s changing its whole email domain how are you going to let your customers, suppliers and other contacts know? The answer is to upload a change-map to ContactClean.com. See the services leaflet for more details.

The Bulk Upload feature won’t appear on an account until it’s been enabled. To have it enabled please contact admin@ContactClean.com.

To support this, a new sub-clause 5 has been added to the terms and conditions under clause 2 “Use”.

5. If you upload any data to ContactClean.com you must take all reasonable steps to ensure the data is accurate and you have the legal right to upload it.

Website Update

A new version of the user account section of the ContactClean website was released in the early hours of November 19th.

The most significant change is the support of multiple identities within one account.

This means you can now manage your personal and work address histories from the one account.

To add a new identity select “My Addresses” from the My Account tab and click on the “Add Group” sub-tab.

ContactClean joins the ISPA

ContactClean is proud to announce that we have been accepted as members of the ISPA (ISPA website).

ISPA UK was established in 1995 and promotes competition, self-regulation and the development of the Internet industry.

As a trade association, membership is voluntary but the companies who choose to become members of ISPA agree to abide by the ISPA UK Code. ISPA members’ allegiance to the Code means that consumers can view the ISPA UK logo as a mark of commitment to good business practice.

ContactClean Add-on for SquirrelMail
ContactClean.com is proud to announce the ContactClean Address Book Add-on for the Squirrelmail WebMail tool. The add-on allows users to check the email addresses in any or all of their personal addressbooks against the Email Change of Address records held at ContactClean.com. The user is presented with the matches in a checklist automatically so they can select which ones to update in the addressbook.Note that the addresses are encoded so no personal information is transmitted to ContactClean - we only return a hit if we already have a searched-for address by other means (via the website etc.).

The add-on can be downloaded from:

This software is offered as Open Source: we hope it can be used as a useful reference for other email, CRM and contact list management tool authors in providing modules for accessing the ContactClean database.

EDITOR NOTES:

SquirrelMail is a standards-based webmail package written in PHP. It has all the functionality you would want from an email client, including strong MIME support, address books, and folder manipulation. It is available free as open source and has around 200,000 installations worldwide. (SquirrelMail homepage…)

ContactClean is an Email Change of Address (ECOA) service to help people keep in touch. We provide services to enable address books and contact lists to be kept up to date. This is achieved through partnerships with Internet and Email Services Providers and free services to individuals. (ContactClean homepage…)
